Seven key points to discovering your true path
- Be 'fascinated / curious' about anything and everything.
Smell the roses, check out new things, ask positive 'what if'
questions, explore lots of new things, stretch yourself a little further to
truly explore all that life offers. Check out what others are doing
(personally - professionally), it's okay to follow; (for a while at least.)
you can be surprised what life has to offer and the ways we can
learn.
- Cause your life to be an ongoing 'do-it-to-yourself' project.
Lifelong learning does not have to be formal, rigid, hard work...
Indeed it probably should be the opposite, informal, softer and
happen with absolute ease! What did you learn today?
- Develop 'true goals', then go forth and explore.
If your immediate goal is to have a Ferrari, consider is it the Ferrari
you want or how it would make you feel? Chances are it's the latter,
so find ways to explore that (its probably a lot cheaper too!)
- Take risks - every day is a risk, but are you directing it or
are the 'universal forces' doing it for you?
The world has a way of making room for people with goals. Create
your dream life plan and then stick to it. Remember there are levels
of risk so know your limitations, but live a little, so you can say you
gave it all you've got.
- Develop resources for the journey.
Without an active and achievable plan, your incredible life path can
come to an abrupt halt, probably at the worst possible time! For
example, if you created some financial independence by putting 10%
of your income away, you can do more having developed a resource.
What other resources could you develop?
- Say to yourself... what if I was truly magnificent... now
explore all the implications of that.
Take a look at people you admire in the world, what qualities do they
have, now act as if you have those qualities. Then explore some
more... and start to multiply these 'qualities' by 10. Go on, be all you
can be and have a great time in the process!
- Have fun innovating, communicating and leading.
Every chance you get to lead, TAKE IT! It involves communication
and innovation. Sure you will make mistakes, but this is a great way
to learn. I much prefer a person that tried, than a person who sat
back and watched. Go on make a positive dent in the planet!
